Just a stupid question in regards to having multiple wives. Is there any legal benefit to it? What is to stop a man from having 5 female 'roomates' and not be legally married...but have relations with all 5?
I understand the issue when it comes to gay/lesbian and why people want such a union, but there are still no laws barring anyone from living with anybody.
Is it for the similar legal reasons that come up with gay/lesbian unions, such as health insurance, etc?
