I think their logic regard to reduced air pressure seems to make sense. The only thing that scares me is that going 1.8K MPH and with single tweety tiny mistake.... It is gonna be a messy, and likely no survivor.

same, i share the opinion on to 'wait for safety record to prove otherwise' and its NOT likely to be in NZ...we have an already too small, AND way too rugged as a geographic profile as land are concerned,,,
but then again Japan have fast trains in a similarly area size.....perhaps not as hiilly....BUT they also get alot more quakes....go figures

Just ask volunteers from the overcrowded prison who want to try it out first few times if no one else want to take the risk. Otherwise would like the concept to be real in this lifetime. Would reduce congestion I bet.
