I think he needs to join military than go to country and fight with little or no training.

Are you referring to the militia or the Americans as not properly equipped or trained? Or both?

Some of the Americans who go there to fight ISIS are former soldiers--they've been trained.

You are misunderstood so let me clarify.

I said for best safety, this man supposed to join the military to get full training to fight against enemy.

It is about "if what".
 
How did he know who or what to go to in first place. .i stay with Kurdish/Turkish family once a month and what they tell me is unwise to go out help Kurds.They hate Brits and Americans with ferocity it just in their interest to accept help at this moment in time.
