With all due respect to vallee, I do not wish to re-open the topic but I was travelling yesterday and had wanted to post this but was unable to do so:
Sheri,
Thanks for your posts they were very informative and I now see why you have been so successful on your appeals!
What struck me the most was this quote:
"Eleven years ago, Blue Cross completely pissed me off by withholding approval for my daughter's hearing impairment related surgery for seven months. My daughter finally got her surgery, and gained five grade levels in reading in seven months after the surgery, and I was so overjoyed that I made a commitment to myself and God that every family who wanted this should have the same opportunities my daughter had, and not just because they happened to have a mom who was a lawyer with resources available. That's when I started doing appeals for free (that was about 1000 appeals ago, BTW)."
I think it says so much about you as a person and your commitment to helping others. It also re-affirmed to me that there have been so many people that my wife and I have met over the years in the deaf community who share the same philosophy as you and how thankful we all are to you and all those others!
Sorry to hear about recent events affecting you and your home but I wish you all the best this Holiday Season and for next year as well.
Rick
