Just like the title says, if you have any for sale I am looking to add to the collection. Not going to resell.

Feel free to post here or shoot me a PM and we'll talk.

Or for the heck of it, show off your collection. I love looking at coins.

I think if anyone had old coins they wanted to sell they would rather look for a reputable coin dealer .

The fact is that the coin dealers pays much lower than your ordinary collector. They're like used car salesman. They need to buy at low prices to make profit on the top of their overhead. The collectors aren't looking to sell.

Did you really think people would lining up to do business with you ?

Cash talks. :cool2:

In other words, yes, I've had various people make deals with me. Including doctors, professors, lawyers, some regular people who didn't want to carry their coins anymore, etc.

Out of all the above, the cheapest coins I got were from the doctor who needed to pay his malpractice insurance. I paid him several thousand dollars for his collection. So yeah, cash talks.

Do they have to be U.S. coins? Because I have a few that are pre 1875 by about 8-9 centuries.

I'll look around... I know I have some old coins, but I don't know if they're that old

I know we have some Indian Head pennies, not sure we have anything larger. Most stuff that old were things passed down, and that's when most of my ancestors were new to the US. I wasn't as involved in collecting when I got to high school. The collection's at my mom's house, but I kept these with me.

Nice Peace dollars. The 1922 and 1923 were the most minted because they had just converted from the Morgans. My favorite Peace is the 1921. It's a high relief coin. Meaning the details in the coin are raised thicker than normal.

Yeah, I asked mom to get some pics of the earlier stuff. Her dad started the collection. We have some Morgans and some 3 cent pieces (the larger ones) as well.

I'm surprised the Peace dollars are in such good shape; I carried one for luck for a while. Ironically I've been storing them in a tin with my AF decorations and insignia.
