Hi,

I'm an MFA candidate at SFU. Currently I'm working on a performance as a
director. It's a dance- theater piece and the whole idea is based on "
Performativity of words". It's a research that I'm doing between Linguistics
and Performance Studies. That's why I'm trying to find a person who knows
sign language and/or would be able to utter the words.

My performance would be on next Monday, October 20th. It would take just 15
minutes at SFU downtown, Woodwards. I will need the performer for one
rehearsal before that day.

I really appreciate if you forward this email to people who might be
interested in collaborating in an artistic project. Please email me at ( ptabassi@sfu.ca) if you are interested in collaboration with a super nice students from various disciplines, mostly art though.

with best regards,

Hi,

I'm an MFA candidate at SFU. I was talking to Renee and she said you might be able to help me. Currently I'm working on a performance as a
director. It's a dance- theater piece and the whole idea is based on "
Performativity of words". It's a research that I'm doing between Linguistics
and Performance Studies. That's why I'm trying to find a person who knows
sign language and I also prefer him/her to utter the words, though in not
its perfect way. So basically I would need more a deaf performer,
who is able to make a bit of sounds.

My performance would be on next Monday, October 20th. It would take just 15
minutes at SFU downtown, Woodwards. I will need the performer for one or two
rehearsals before that day. And the performer wil just seat on a chair and
will say the text.

I really appreciate if you forward this email to people who might be
interested in collaborating in an artistic project.

"Performativity" is not a word. Plus I think your request is insulting.

I didn't mean anything like this...My writing was not good though and I 've changed it... but Performativity is a world(;

an artist's world

Yolur best bet to find someone would be to contact a local deaf school or a school that has a sign language program. Failing that you could try finding some info from a local interpertor company. Look in the phone book under either translator or interperter. Good luck .
For the anti-arts AD people , lighten up. Not everyone making an announcement is going to know all the PC deaf terms. And after all an artist can make up any words they want. It's why it is called ART

What solar system is that world in?
