Which one do you use LOL or HaHa in ASL?

For me…I am more of using “Ha Ha” because of traditional ASL. I feel awkward using “LOL” in ASL.

FYI, your sign in “Ha Ha” indicates beautifully!

But I do use “LOL” on internet. But I refuse to use “LOL” on ASL.

I have seen a few saying "lol" in spelling in person. I thought that was weird!

i thought saying "haha" or "lol" in person was a little unnecessary. on the net, the other person can't see or hear you laughing, so "haha's" and whatnot are necessary to indicate laughter. if you're actually there with someone, can't they see your laughing without you having to tell them so?

^^^ good point. I don't think I've ever used either "haha" or "lol" when talking in person either.

I have seen a lot of people who doesn't laugh and fingerspelled "lol". I was like yeah you're laughing.

I don't spell HA HA
I don't spell LOL

I laugh
I smile

Real faceexpression is the best. ;)

Well, I do both laugh and say ha ha in sign language. :P It depends how it is used, anyhow.

I think by using "LOL" in person takes the feeling out and it doesn't serve a purpose while trying to make a facial expression or in a conversation. Also it isn't really meaningful.

On the 'net, Sure, It'd be understandable to use those acronyms.

So, By saying "Haha" or laughing in person is an efficient way to show you are showing your emotions and it is also meaningful in a conversation.

Most of the time the fingerspelled loan sign "haha" is used in ASL when someone is being sarcastic. Like if someone was teasing a person, then that person would say "Haha, that's funny" in a dry tone (sarcastic) with a flat facial expression.
