Fiber Optics is a special plastic that is made into thin strands, about the size of human hair. Light travels through those strands of plastic.

Laser is taking a light and condense all those light into one tiny area. Imagine all the lights that is coming from a light bulb and putting that light onto one little dot. That is pretty much laser in a nutshell.

Now, the fiber optic strand will carry that laser light from one end to other.

That is why fiber optics is fast cause it carries information at almost speed of light.
