Hello from Chattanooga, TN (to start off I am still very new to this community. If any thing I say comes across as offensive or improper please correct me.)

I started learning sign language on my own 6months to a year ago for some people that I work for/with. I work for Orange Grove Center who works with people that have mental or physical disabilities. I started to learn sign language for one lady I work with who is both HOH and is unable to speak very clearly so she tends to switch between verbal speech and sign. I have loved using what I have learned so far and will be taking a class at a local church in a couple weeks.

I hope I didn't chatter to much there.

Welcome to AllDeaf!!

I am a recent total deaf adult and will be finally taking an ASL class starting this week.

Hi, I am an old deaf adult, although Kristina's somehow seems more graceful. :hmm: Anyway I hope you have a good time while you are here and attain your goals.

Thanks! Yeah, I am very excited to start "officially" learning ASL. I started with The Joy of Signing but use a sign language dictionary more by adding a word or two to my vocabulary as I need them.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Just browse around a lot of informations. Have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.
