Hay Everybody,
My name is Luke Gagnon. I am from Massachusetts. I have hearing and sight. I am starting to learn ASL for my religion and i am loving it! I always wanted to learn ASL and was curious, and now i am doing something about it.
I started to learn in September. I got "Signing for Dummies" book. Book is ok. It covers basics, CD with book also. CD has video demonstrations which is helpful. I feel like ASL is coming easy for me, i dont know why. When i talk i use a lot gestures and facial expressions, so i guess ASL is kind of natural for me. My freind is also learning ASL so i have someone to practice with so it will be easier to learn and to keep the language.
I am practicing letters all the time, especially when i am driving. When i see street signs i spell them out. I try spelling not just practicing the alphabet so i will be better at going from letter to letter, not going in progression of the alphbet. I also try to finger spell with both hands in a mirror, so i see how they look coming from a person.
Well thats it. If any of you have any tips, tricks, suggestions please please tell me, for it will be truely appreciated.

That would be me :dance2: I found THIS SITE has a few good .pdf files for free, they are taken from a course that costs $99, but there is enough to learn to keep you busy for a bit. Also I know you've been to ASLpro, but I don't know if you know, they have games and such where you can set the fingerspelling speed and try to figure out what they are fingerspelling, it helps... I think that's one of the hardest parts so far is reading fingerspelling.
