Labor misclassification a major problem in US


There is another issue that is not directly "misclassification" the way it is used here. But, what used to bother me many years ago in Illinois and since I think it comes from the Federal level probably in all other states and that is the use of UNION rates as the "prevailing wage" and thus what is required on any government construction projects regardless of what is the practice for private projects. I have not kept close track of this over the years but am under the impression it is still the case.
