So, in another line of work by acclaimed director, Peter Jackson, who has directed the LoTR triogoy, has come up with another production, the King Kong re-make.

The big question is...WHY???

while, of course, most movie re-makes usually suck, but maybe with his intellence of work and adding in more stunts, thrills, and adventurous scenes in the King Kong re-make...

but, as I said, movie re-makes are horrible and that I say let the orginal be left alone, no matter how bad the orginal was, the re-make would be just HORRIBLE.

For example, "Godzilla" and "The Haunting" were just HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE ass-sucking filthy, worthless flicks ever!

then again, who knows? sometimes re-makes aren't so bad...

for example, "Ocean's 11" and "The italian job" were as impressive as the orginals were.

But, sure, I have seen the orginal movie of King Kong, which was proably made in the 1930s or 1940s...I'm not really sure but it wasn't too good though. So maybe Peter Jackson can improve that.

I have thought that Peter Jackson would direct "the hobbit" which takes place before the LoTR triogoly....oh well. Maybe he'll do it in afew years or so...beats me. perhas another director would do that. again, beats me.

so who's going bananas to see "King Kong"?

I understand where you're coming from -- I've never been keen on re-makes of classic movies. I realise Hollywood's just sort of grabbing semi-thin air and grabbling as it seems they've run out of good and solid storylines for new movies, so they've resorted to re-makes of classic movies.

Actually, King Kong is a movie Peter Jackson has wanted to do for a long time. Now that they have faith in him, they've given him a budget of 200 million dollars and it will be filmed in New Zealand.

Peter Jackson wrote the script years ago, but he didn't get around to it for years due to working on LotR and he did have trouble trying to get the movie off the ground at first. But now, it's no problem since he's a very successful director thanks to the LotR Trilogy.

I do have faith in Peter Jackson in delivering us a superb version of King Kong.

Actually, the original Ocean's Eleven wasn't that good. The newer version is far superior in my opinion, the first one was just too blah.

Most remakes suck eggs, period but we do get some gems once in a while.

I think it would be a big improvement. If you look at Godzilla, it wasn't even close to the actual concept of the original Godzilla. Instead of some huge energy-breathing dragon, it was some severely mutated lizard. That's what ruined the whole concept of Godzilla. If they had followed the original Godzilla storyline closely and created a similar looking creature, they would have been more successful. As for King Kong, it's actually a gorilla... not a mutated gorilla. If all goes well, they will very likely make another gorilla and we'll have no worry of seeing some mutated freaked-out gorilla. Heh!
