This is the first year my daughter has really been out in the cold due to going to pre-school and all. She has BTE hearing aids and im having issues with winter hats.
If i put a hat on her the ha's are giving really bad feedback, i dont want her outside without the hearing aids but i also dont want her head to freeze.
What else can i do to keep her head warm without all the feedback?
Thank you for any help with this!

A tight fitting hat is more likely to cause feedback than a loose fitting one. My solution when my son was small, however, was to simply turn the HAs off until we got to the warm car, and the hat could be removed.

I hear it is freezing cold up in the Clarksville/Hopkinsville area. I used to live in Tennessee.

Good suggestions by Jillio and Bottesini!

Like somebody from elsewhere suggested, berets and newsboy caps.

Off topic....so did I!

It has been pretty cold here lately, in the 20's when i get my son on the bus in the morning, warms up a bit in the afternoon, right now its 44 and sunny, but yesterday we had snow and hail, too bad it didnt stick :(

what exactly are newsboy caps? i know what berets are, but not those, lol.

Kind of like a beret with a brim.

that is a really cute hat! i bet my mom could make some for her if i find a pattern. thank you so much! :ty:

Thank you so much for the newsboy hat picture and idea, i talked to my mom last night and she found some patterns and is going start tonight working on crocheting a couple newsboy hats for my daughter! :D

while i was growing up , I hated hats due to feedback. I would put hat on and then lift hat band part away from my HA. my other ear with no HA would be covered. I didn't care if i looked goofy or what, but it was my solution. now i don't have that problem due to good fitting molds, wind resistant horn tubes and automatic feedback cutoff HA technology.

Don't have to turn off hearing aids. Just turn volume down lower that will not cause feedback or try to loose cap made a bigger size for both ears n' devices.

Here are the sample of winter hat webs:

I like this kind of material better for bte hearing aids becuz of the switch will not stick together into material if u choose crochet yarn, it may have bothersome.

When I was little, I don't think I had any feedback problems with hats because I was wearing the boxy type of hearing aid. Now I usually use the atttached hood instead of a hat.

There is always baseball caps? I wear those all the time and they are just above the hearing aids so they don't give any feedback. But not sure if that was what you wanted in terms of warmth. Just an idea! (It might be more of a boy thing at your daughter's age, though ..? )
