Kid's laptop hunter picks PC instead of Mac.

This is probably the first good microsoft advertisement I've seen in a long time. Honestly it's about time they showed that Apple PCs are just overpriced glitter vessels. Who wants to spend thousands to get a computer comparable to a <$1000 computer that will actually be compatible with most software?
 
Apple need to be competitive by lowering the price in order to be up to par with all PC prices. They don't need to be so staunch over high pricing. They're just shooting their feet. Since that Apple Mac started using Intel processor, then why can't they drop their price 50% or more and play "Walmart" against M$. They can easily become rich. They got to remmy that economic situation like that gonna kill them if they keep price high. Its a good time to drop price dramatically to help people who wanted to use Apple Mac to find job or create jobs.

It's not that hardware, Alot of time hardware are nearly similiar to PC... It uses Intel and I can see why parts and hardwares are overpriced. Can't they just build cheaper iMac for anyone who are on budget.

See the difference, Many 15" wide screen Windows Laptops are selling between $300 to $700 while Apple laptops cost heckava lot more and don't have much hardwares options than Windoz laptops. Though newer technology emerge and the problem is the availability to accommodate with new hardware.

Get out of your house and meet with many people out there in real life. You can see why many people still have older desktop or laptops in use because they can't afford to buy newer pc or laptop due to cost. They'll go for cheaper one when old one no longer able to meet today's software requirements or breaks down. Also with economic situation, lot of people are out of jobs. Money are tighter.

I was always out there to help fix many people's PC and Laptops. They can't afford to send their computer to shop cuz it cost too much just little thing and several had bad experience with PC shop that ripped them off. I offer them reasonable fees to repair their computers so that they can use it to look for jobs, educations for kids, and many more. This gave me bigger pictures of their economic situation. All are middle class and some upper class citizens are asking for help to fix computer what they can afford. Retired people are in the bind and they can't afford new pc. To be honest. I've seen people still using 700mhz up to 1.6ghz pc today which is very out of date but still getting around by maximizing memory and adding better graphic card just to get by.

Noticed that many PC company are making new netbooks, smaller size desktop pc ect selling cheap while Apple still high price. That's why I was saying if Apple want to infiltrate PC market, just match the price of PC and be competitive. That would be an excellent marketing practice. In that way Apple can be back to popularity. I don't care about newest hardware that Apple bragged about. How many people would buy, few out of millions of people!! If you can afford to buy Apple, that's good cuz you're one of few out of million people.

Apple has different role from PC, they are more simplicity and best design.

If you can't afford then go buy Mac with your credit card and make payment.
 
Well, I have been using Mac for 16 years. I have to say they are the most simple and most reliable machines out there. You don't have to worry about viruses, malwares, and all that stuff. Mac OS 9 and earlier only had less than 30 viruses (mostly trojans varieties) while Mac OS X has none because it's part of the unix family...none of the unix operating systems have viruses either.

The prices of the Macs are high, because of the "Apple Tax", which pays for the research and development to create new things from their OWN in house innovation. That is why you see many companies decide to copy stuff from them because they have run out of ideas and have lackluster employees that cannot find any innovations, that is why their computers are cheap...they do not have research and development basically, so their innovation are limited. They also hold value longer than PCs, too. It's kinda like owning a Japanese or European car while PC are American cars.

Yes, You done! You always want to quick boot up but too many new PC still over 40 seconds for boot up to ready unlike Apple. Also too many PC's laptop is very awful battery life and very short as 3 hours. Apple battery life over 6 hours and Apple battery life's cycles can go up to 5 years. That's mean PC's battery life's cycle only last for 2 years then spend $100 for brand new battery life. That's suck!

I had found from other thread about one member did stated that Mac OS X has security threat on network, such as worms or trojans can attack DNS or network, I would like to find out if it is true but probably rare or impossible if use password to get permission.

I'm still have MacBook Pro and decided not want to sell, just rather to keep myself.

New redesign MacBook is nice, I would get one in 2 years or so.

I have no issue with my MacBook Pro, except for DVD playback, it does crashes so often and no idea about what happen, I think about want backup and re-install OS.

3 years ago, I got brand new 2 Toshilba laptops (duo 2 core 1.6ghz) for under $430 (each) include sales tax. I sold one at ebay for profit $$$. Big thank to someone posted at slickdeals.net.

Few weeks ago, someone posted at Slickdeals's forum. They have Apple Mac laptop for $750 (not excatly price). I rather not take it.

then don't get Mac if you keep complain or use your credit if you wish to buy Mac.

The price of MacBook is compare to Sony laptop and Dell XPS (13" inches).

If you buy cheap laptop like Toshiba then you will get more problem than Mac does and I refuse to buy any PC laptop, except for ASUS and Dell due better compatible with Linux, however some ASUS model are horrible.

1.6 GHz C2D is enough for photographer.

As soon as possible, we plan to buy ASUS or IBM laptop for my son's college graduate gift.
