Sent my profoundly deaf child to day camp. She has a cochlear implant. Her new friend . . . Skyler, the name I wanted for Larisa. Add to that, Skyler has a cousin with a cochlear implant so she totally knows about La's equipment. It is a "God moment" . A "mom moment".

OK, thanks. Sweet that his little friend found a deaf friend at camp My daughter recently had a happy experience running into an elderly deaf man (whose son and grandson are also deaf!) at a store -- nice how the shared experience makes for such an immediate connection.

Right, I've no kids yet. Maybe I'll have deaf kid(s), who knows.
