Well, my truck came with a $100 K&N CAI (cold air intake) setup, when I changed the plugs out the filter was severely worn. I sent an email to K&N and explained the situation and being it has a Million Mile warranty and truck only has 208K on the clock, they said they would replace it... Today I got a package from UPS....

Did you clean MAF sensor after replaced a new air filter? Dirty MAF sensor can be degrade engine performance and trigger Check Engine or Service Engine Soon lights on.....

I even cleaned the TB, the butterfly, took the IAC and cleaned it and the port out, put new plugs in about 2 weeks ago, need to put new wires on next month and oil change is due.

* never had check engine light*

Glad that K&N honoured their warranty!
I used to run their filters on my V8 Range-Rover back in the UK, never noticed any power increase (I had 190bhp to play with anyway so I don't think I'd notice an extra one or two!) but the SWOOOOOSH of the induction was like music to my ears :)

engines are like air pumps, what goes in must come out so if its restricted ( mufflers/cats..ect..) you wont notice much, I am straight piped and has awesome power coming from a 4.8 Vortex

Straight pipes on a Rover V8 :) The neighbours would have loved me!!!

Me and a couple of friends did rally a vehicle once with a straight-through exhaust, it was a military Landrover 101 with the body removed and the seat and roll cage set further back plus a few other modifications. It was called the BAMF :)
We didn't do too badly, but the engine dropped a couple of valves sadly so we had to retire it -most of the bits lived on in other cars - as is the way with Landrovers!

Its nice to be able to mod a vehicle, sadly the newer stuff doesnt give you too many options as the older vehicles did.
