What was your first pair of hearing aids, last pair and what kind are they?
My first was a Maico and my last pair is still currently is a Rexton mini Piccolo's. Analog and my fave still despite one pair of digitals years ago and tried again this summer?.

My first hearing aid looked like this and I only wore one.

As I recall- my first "hearing aid" was in my eye glasses-Fidelity. A long time ago.

aside: lasted on a few years as hearing loss increased. Believe the next one was Phonak BTE. In the 60s.

Don't remember what my first one was, but I do know I had a Maico somewhere along the line, a Finetone. My present ones are Starkey, Oticon, and Unitron all power analogs.

Pretty sure it was a Zenith body worn aid with a Y cord (only one aid but two 'ear pieces'. I'd have to look in mom's drawer-- yes she still has it lol. Lasted 12 years.

Current pair is Oticon Chili. I think I liked my Oticon 38Ps the best. Didn't care for Widex pair I had.

Mine too! And I know I still have it, I posted a picture once long ago here.

As for me most recently I had a Phonak Naida, gave it to my mother in law when it was time to change, trialed Oticon, didn't like it, and ended up with another Phonak finally.

I wish I had gotten that 'Y' cord too . I got my first HA in 1954 , I wonder if they had the 'Y' cord yet.

My first one was a body aid too; not 100% sure what the brand was. I want to say Danavox but I'm not sure without asking my folks. Since then, I've had Siemens, Rexton, and Starkey. My digital (left ear) is the Starkey DaVinci, the analog (right ear) is Rexton Energy P.

I remember I had 1970s silver zeith body hearing aid with white stretch look like bra. Lol

Thanks everyone!!!!! My Maico was a Y cord. Wore it from the age of 2 til I was in 7 th grade. My parents knew it was time to move me forward when I kicked a boy in defense of being picked on and got a one day suspension.

I wore huge white trainer with huge number on it in elementary school.

yeah, had one of those trainers too when I was little. Didn't like it. And yet, somehow, I was fine with using the FM system when I went to the deaf school.... ah well. Maybe it was because we had fanny packs to hold the Fm receiver, instead of having it strapped to our chest like the trainer. probably.

How old were you all when the body aid was no longer worn?

I wore a body aid when I in was my 20's , I did not care what people thought about it anymore. I made a harness to wear it on the outside of my clothes. I think I was about 27 yo when I finally got a bte one.

12 years old. I guess by that time it was felt that I needed something stronger? Or BTEs were becoming more popular...No idea.

I wore my body aid underneath my shirt (I think Mom did it that way to keep it from getting dirty since I played and ran around outside in the dirt lol). Interestingly in the summer time I wore it OUTSIDE my clothes with a modified harness (turned into sort of a lanyard) so it would be easier to take off at the swim club/beach.

My mom fashioned a harness of some sort to work with mine. I mainly worn mine under my clothes except times I was out to the pool and beaches during the summer. Modesty was a thing with my mom. The only teslity my mom forgot was the rain and snow that I loved to play in. She sent me to Girls Scout camp and it rained the entire week. ( utter failure ) she picked me up in tears because I could not hear my friends and my sister had to help me and the leader would not call home. I think my sister and I quit after that fiasco. Bwahahaha
