(Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!)

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping peop le get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ASS, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though . . . Something has to change in this country -- and soon!!!!!

guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'.

Economy is very bad now, it's very difficult for deaf people to get job and we are in recession, possibly worse than 2001.

Not all deaf people get SSI for really nothing, they got good reason to have SSI.

I know a lot of people can't get jobs, but does that mean they should waste the government's money on drugs?

Think about it... a man goes begging for help from the government. "I'm poor. I can't find a job. I need help so I can live. I need money for food, water, and a place to live!" So, the government gives this man some money. Then that man goes out and spends it on weed when that money could have given him 4 to 5 meals instead of one joint.

While I don't smoke weed, I do think that if a person really has to smoke weed... it should be treated as a privilege, not as a waste. That means, you wanna smoke weed? Use your own hard-earned money instead of our money.

If my company asks me to take drugs test, I'd tell them that they can contact my PCP, to prove that I do NOT take any drugs.
That's my :2: cents.

:ugh: Who are we to judge? Maybe you don't like where your tax dollars are going. There will ALWAYS be taxes. There is no way out of it. Believe me, if I were homeless, I'd do drugs. It's a rotten life to live, really bad. There is always gonna be something wrong no matter where our tax dollars go suck it up.

I am sorry but this is really buggin me and I want to say it. Not all people on assistance does drugs. And I want to say one other thing about assistance - - - - - Don't any of you ever think that getting assistance is supposed to get one up on their feet. It doesn't work. If it did work, we would be reading a new success story everyday. Go to L.A., where the poor live and ask them how assistance has helped them. Oh, and a freaking joint only costs less than $10, get real people - - the drugs bought are much more deadly than weed.

Urine Test = 175 dollars per person

Would it be worth it to test each person who gets SSI? I'm sure that the company who tests urine would benefit from this. What if that person who wrote the email/article, is an employee from an urine company who gets nothing to test on?

Anything is possible. But this is not going to happen, what I'm worrying about is the aliens stealing our welfare. They aren't even legal.

I do agree.
People who are on SSI don't want to take urine test - that's too obviously because they're on drugs.
