Have you ever been out in public and your ear starts to itch and you just want to yank out your hearing aid and start scratching away? I get that every so often and it irritates me because I don't want to start going at it in front of people, but it mocks me. You never hear of anyone else wanting to start going at their ear randomly in public, so does that come with wearing hearing aids? Does anyone else have this problem sometimes? Or am I just a freak of nature?

I get like that sometimes. I leave my HA in though, and turn my HA off then rub my ear till the itchiness goes

I hate it hate it hate it. I didnt have that problem when I was younger but now it drive me nuts. So when I am home I leave my HA out and stay out of my hear.

Would olive oil help to relieve/stop the itchiness?

It has for me, but I have not worn hearing aids since I was about 5/6 years old.

I use a product called Miracell. I put a very light coating on the earmold before I push the molds into my ears.

What does the Miracell do?

For me it doesn't happen too often, but it does happen often enough that it annoys me when I do get itches.

Miracell is an all natural sort of oil, helps to relieve itchiness/irritation in the ears (Miracell is used for skin problems, some people use it to help reduce scarring, etc.). Very useful. But if I use it in my ear or on the earmold and wear the HA all day, the earmold keeps slipping out a bit due to the moisture/oilyness from the miracell. ah well.

Yes, I get hot sweaty or itchy ear...and I do yank it out and stick my finger in my ear and scratch. To hell with what anyone thinks!

Oh, one more thought, if men can scratch there private parts in public, which many do, I can scratch my ear! Hahahah.

I usually yank out the aid, wipe the mold off on my shirt, and run my finger around my ear.

Never thought about it, but when I describe it, it does seem kind of gross.

i kinda do the same thing, Bottensini!! but i dont let anybody see what I'm doing, hehe

LMAO! I know, I didn't really think of it. When I was younger I'd do it in class and I've since stopped doing it... but I do move my hearing aid around in my ear.

Miracell is suppose to be used everyday and claims to help with 37 skin needs. You put it on the molds very lightly and it makes it 10x easier to slide the molds in and later taking them out. A small bottle last forever if used properly, which means coating the molds lightly. I have never had itchy ears since using it. If it causes your mold to slide out, either you are using way too much of it, or your molds don't fit properly. It's not expensive, especially considering how long it lasts. What have you got to lose.

You're never alone. I do that when I had Hearing Aid. Earmold can get itchy as it get. Some people looked at me like I'm a freak. I told them bluntly that It's my earmold causing it to itch. My wife does that now and I hear her HA whistling while she was itching in her ear with earmold. I told her just turn thing off and itch!! :giggle

I have CI now and my ear do itch sometime but lot less than when I wore a HA.

Catty

Do you do commercials for this product?

I had one student who had a big problem with that. Sometimes, it interfered with class.

When I was younger I always had itchy ears, I would take my hearing aids out and scratch my ears in class. Teachers/students didn't seem to mind as I told em one time "My ear itches!" so they understood pretty much what I was doing was not trying to disrupt the class.

However as I got older, nowadays, my ears don't itch as much. When they do, I'll just turn my aids off and scratch my ears, I don't care who sees me or what, it's not that embarrassing. Hell I've seen guys with hairy ears dig their pinky fingers in their ears and pull out these nasty clumps of wax in public. So frankly who cares?!
