but what about that fat chef, hasn't he ate all the wrong food?!!:eek3:

discuss, argue, throw bombs to each other, (and now NSA is alerted to go to AllDeaf only to find out we're arguing about value of thinness of fatness fo restaurant chefs) :giggle:

I know chefs of all sizes and shapes. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with their culinary skills.

:giggle:....I have a pix of "Never Trust a Skinny Chef" in my Kitchen....altho' I'm not fat or skinny...
I do feel that if a Chef is fat, even "pleasantly plump", then the food must be delicious! :giggle:

It depends on the subject being prepared. If an overweight chef is presenting health food, it may hurt credibility. It doesn't mean the information is incorrect, but can certainly be perceived that way. At the very least, it means the person doesn't live the lifestyle being preached.

On the other hand, if you look at Giada De Laurentiis, a chef who does not make healthy food and looks fantastic, she still does have credibility(she studied in France). However, I should point out that she has admitted she doesn't eat a lot of the food she creates. She's a very watchable chef and an honest one.

I would rather watch a healthy people present, but what really counts is what is being presented. If I make something Giada has presented, I don't follow her recipe. I follow my low fat content plan and integrate her recipe.

I am more concerned with how clean the chef hands are and that they keep their hair pulled back or covered so it will not fall into my food. I also hope the kitchen is clean and does have not rodents and bugs all over the place.

Giada tends to eat little only if she needs to taste during she cooks then at a dinner, she does not eat but sometimes little with family.

I don't watch him , but I am sure I had heard every four letters words he used if that what you mean. I would be concerned about the menu not being in English . I went to a boarding school and we had hamburger almost every night cooked a difference way. So when I was home on a vacation
my older sister took me a restaurant and the menu was not in English and I didn't understand the waiter . When he came out with our meals guess what I ordered, Yup , hamburger cooked some fancy way. I almost cried so my sister let me have her meal .

That's why I always check that the restaurant has an A certificate on the door before I even go in. It's not a guarantee but it shows that at minimum sanitation rules are followed.

like most jobs especially police officers... everybody starts off lean and mean... and the veterans end up fat.

Chef Fieri said to this young skinny chef with best-selling wraps - at my age... you will be like this *pointing at his chubby belly*

seasoned chef's fat because he's always sampling food everyday for years.

We had a restaurant in my city that everyone thought was clean but when people started to smell the stink while walking past the place the health department checked it out. It was shut down. I never ate there thank goodness!
