first off -- p3 transfer to ANY VRS provider is called porting means you keep the number you were assigned. its NOT the VRS's to keep. Its YOURS.
second - p3 address book willl not transfer to new any new VRS. Just like swapping phones or providers. Its always has been your responsiblity to keep paper or another record of your address book. Personally - I wouldnt close p3 or any other VRS numbers you might have. This way you have the copy of address book just in case. Its not costing you a thing to leave it "open".
if you want to "quit p3" or any number or vrs you use, in the VRS industry its a much simpler to just leave it and walk away. 1 year, 5 years, 10 years from now something might change in your life and you want to "check it out" its there. Question is will it still be there after such a long inactivity of non use? dunno. This is a new frontier we need to explore now.
