Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to answer a few questions for my deaf culture class. We have to do 3 deaf interviews. If you are interested or can just help me out here are the questions. You can email me the answers: kara8385@yahoo.com
1. What's your name?
2. Where are you from?
3. What school did you go to?
4. What did you like/hate about your education?
5. Do you have anyfamily members who are deaf? who can sign?

4. What did you like/hate about your education?
likes...sports program hate..being left out and isolated in social groups
5. Do you have anyfamily members who are deaf? who can sign?
Yes, one brother and yes he can sign.
6. When did you learn ASL?
at the age of 25 to 28
7. How did/do you communicate with family, peers, at school, and at work?
with family..thru spoken language, with brother..ASL, peers growing up were all hearing, but now all of my peers use ASL, work..ASL
8. How did you become deaf?
was born that way
9. Do you consider yourself big"D" deaf, little"d" deaf, or hard of hearing?
was deaf growing up and now I consider myself Deaf
10. How/where do you feel discriminated?
felt discriminated growing up being criticized for my not so perfect speech and not paying attention in class
11. If you have kids would you rather them be deaf or hearing?
doesnt matter..both kids are hearing
12. What is your favorite thing to do?
play sports

Kansas School for the Deaf but im graduation in 2000

4. What did you like/hate about your education?
i do like education because one things!?! i dont like read and english too rough question

5. Do you have anyfamily members who are deaf? who can sign?
im raise deaf since i was baby at ages 10 month old and my family is hearing but my parents and my brother can learn sign languages and my grandma also learn sign languages more improvement.

6. When did you learn ASL?
i never going ASL classes but im learn sign languages myself at ages 5 years old

7. How did/do you communicate with family, peers, at school, and at work?
i do communicate with my mom lots with sign than my dad but i can bring with me as paper and write at work to my family what says or my mom tell me what family says.

8. How did you become deaf?
im become deaf when i was baby at ages 10 month old and i never knew im become deaf but my mom took me to dr's office for ear check-up and im become deaf.

9. Do you consider yourself big"D" deaf, little"d" deaf, or hard of hearing?
Deaf

10. How/where do you feel discriminated?
i have hard time getting jobs! that not easy for me

11. If you have kids would you rather them be deaf or hearing?
dosen't matter but im only deaf and if i have my own children one days they know which deaf or hearing god's choice.

12. What is your favorite thing to do?
watch sports on tv,im collection royals magazines on scrapbooks,photo scrapbooks and forums include deaf and royals but im been member this forums.
