interpreting career

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question.

I'm thinking about going to school for sign language and I was wondering how interpretors feel about their jobs. Can you tell me anything about sign language interpreting as a job?

I am not an Interpreter yet but I can tell you that I love the language and the people. and the other interpreters that I have talked to say they love their job.
