I am just curious if anyone who is international and not from the U.S, like myself have tried to download any computer based VP's (Like Viable Version or any other) and call anyone from the U.S.A directly to their VP's? If not, I must be the only one on Alldeaf.com who have succeed. :thumb:

when i lived in Germany. It is working with VP100 and chatting thru with some US friends. It is fine, but I prefer VP200, because of sharp moving, well. In Germany had stop to selling for VP, because nobody interested in VP, well!

What? Are you bullshitting me? :eek3: Why would nobody be interested in these VP's - hence the new technology! :ugh3:

deafies Germany found some a new friends from US, so US friends recommend to them about VP100. deafies Germany did explain them, what do they have "bildtelefon", so means they don't want too much technical on their desk, look like too many TV.
that is why, deafies Germany said, enough "bildtelefon" and "webcam".
If "Bildtelefon" was not there, may be buy a VP100 or VP200.

Whoa! I was just kidding with "bullshitting" word. But please excuse my language, ok? I didn't mean to make you get angry with me in regards of the story.

In australia, I know this techical man, who researches about VPs from the US and Europe, I find different technologies in relation to Video Phones. I'm sorry, if I accused you, sunshinelady. :o

I have the great interest in these technologies including Vp 100 and Vp 200. No wonder australia is very behind with its techonology and the deaf companies are researching in electing the resources to support for the deaf in australia, we, australian are sure to want one rather keeping our TTYs in our very eyes.

Heh, true! I already do unterstand, what you means, just kidding. I am not serious to make mad about you ;)
By the way,

I love VP200 and still used that, but in Germany have no interested in VP.
I can't help. I heard some about news technology "TESS". It use thru with webcam, so look like with interpreter on VRS. deafies Germany do need some help from Interpreter on TESS. nice!

The VP's in Australia are quite expensive, (AUD$499 - $699 :eek3:) but will research a bit more on other ones I might find. Anyway, nev'a mind me!

My good friend s son can't afford to buy DLink videophone from Russia. Dlink videophone is cheaper price than in Russia. So he sent package of videophone, dlink 604 and travel voltage conventor to his son who lived in Odessa, Ukraine. It worked to connect into vp 100 in using ip address..

Jclark, you may purchase it from USA or good friend.

That's what I am looking at, and I have a good friend who is willing to help :)

I know about the IP address, it constantly changes all the time, but I will find out with my ISP to see if I can get a "Static" IP which will be the same all the time. And also, I have already booked a DLINK in order from dbarovian in a good deal. So look forward to get it in June.

Thats true but you can setup your own dynDNS name or no-ip name. What you need to do is to create your own account with these two providers. Put created account names into your router and have these port forwarded to your Dlink videophone. Make sure your router is capable of using the dynDNS otherwise you will be forced to give your your IP to your contacts or get your ISP to assign you fixed IP for additional cost. I remember name was caughtup.dyndns.org but this is no longer work

It worked like a charm and I did it more than 3 years ago before I move to United States.

Dlink DVC-1000 (PAL version) is what I had used in Australia. NTSC based DVC-1000 are to be avoided as these dont work well with Australian TV.

Good luck
