Hello!
I’m person with hearing impaired. I’m student of English Philology. I’m from Europe, exactly from Poland. I would like to meet deaf people who would be interested in international transfer between deaf students. In my country, deaf people study in mainstream universities – with hearing people. There aren’t universities for deaf people. So, I’m officially the first deaf student who study English language in Poland :P English has always been my passion and I resolved to go to university to study the language. Some people tried to advise me against studying such difficult for deaf people major, but I was indomitable. Thanks to enormous support from my university I would like to establish cooperation with deaf students in order to practice English, to make friends, to get to know your culture and etc.
Greetings,

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Yes, there is Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. in United States of America. There are lots of d/Deaf people there. I am pretty sure that they have English language or English Philosophy to help you understand the context of the right sentences in the English language.

One thing I am wondering is "Can you sign your polish sign language or BSL (British Sign Language) or ASL (American Sign Language)?" If you do know how to sign, then that is good. But if you are oral mainstream into the hearing college, that would be difficult if you can have some accommodations like Sign Language interpreters or notetakers or CART which is a laptop that the teacher speak over the mike into the computer so that you can read. Other ADers will discuss with you.

Have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.
