Watched 2 episodes of Indecent Proposals (InvestigateID) the other night....got me to thinking....and questioning my own judgment at times. Even giving me a better perspective of people's lives.
One woman, with 2 small babies & her mother were forced to live in a hotel room after her husband left and took all the $$ they had....She did work part time cleaning rooms but it wasn't enough $$ to pay for the hotel room...her mother was injured and couldn't work...She went on the Internet to a site...this man offered her $1200 a week to be his companion & sex partner...He was married, an older man....After attempts to borrow $$ from family/friends failed, she didn't know what else to do...So she accepted that offer...It was either that, or go to a Shelter with the risk of losing her babies.
Luckily, for her, the man was very generous, set her up in a house and gave her a new car...She also got another job, but decided to continue to be a "companion & sex partner" with the man.
The other episode was about a gay couple, married and very happy. Christians with high morals....One partner got sick, had a stroke, along with a weak heart and required so much meds...24/7 care also....The man was running out of $$ to pay for the meds...he was doing yard work for awhile...it wasn't enough, and he couldn't leave his partner alone very long....There was a lot of Love in their relationship....he also went to the Internet...was offered $400-$700 each incident for webcam for people with sexual fantasies...He had to act them out.....
It was his last resort...his partners meds...only had 2 days left of them and if he did not get the meds 3x daily, he would die....
So he took the offer and earned enough $$ for 2 months worth of meds...did not tell his partner...until he was questioned about where the $$ was coming from....
In the end tho'....the man was able to get more work landscaping and being a personal trainer....was able to stop doing sexual fantasies on the Webcam...but said it if came back to that, he would do it again...
I'm not judging these people...sometimes we have to do what we have to do in order to survive and protect the ones we Love....as horrible as it sounds tho'.
