I hate them.....Hubby has to prepare seven different income taxes. He will spend every weekend from here until the "dead line" working on them.
We always owe so nothing to look forward to.

How about you? Are you done?

I had to file the income tax because of scholarship after I realized that VR require me to file the tax, even if I have no income and I don't know that IRS require me to file the tax if scholarship is greater than tutition cost.

It is stupid, even I have to pay $30 fee for state income tax, so I want my state to repeal income tax so I will have federal tax only.

Hate them, but remember, your filing fee is tax deductable next year.
Done ours yesterday.

I know a lot of people love them because they get money back.

Yes me! I use TurboTax program and they guide me though it step by step so it was painless. Found out I got refund this year which was very exciting.

Thanks Sonocativo, I'll try to remember to deduct TurboTax fee next year. TurboTax wasn't cheap because I had to do self-employment.

I know some include the cost of using eqipment ( printer ink, paper ) any costs for renewing plates and taxes on a vehicle as well, depending on states I assume? ours were.

Hmmm, the fact that the purchase of the software, TurboTax, fees paid to tax pros, etc is deductible comes up while you are doing your taxes using that software.....

As to the refunds, it was always y'all's money...you let the government play with it for a while....

Yep, they invest it, make interests off it, then give you a hard way to go to get it back.

They take it free when you earn it and they make you pay to get it back... Paying to get your own, hard earned cash back, Bastards.

I'm willing. We used to cut it so close we always owed money, and paying enough in to get a little back instead is far more comfortable.

Do not like tax time. We always have to pay a big chunk of money. :(

For the first time in 5 years, we don't owe this year and we get a HUGE refund! It went to pay off our balance that we owed to the IRS from the years of owing them. Now, it is close to zero and next year, we should get a huge refund and we will have cash to fix this damn house up!!! I cant wait!

How we solved that problem....we both stopped working two jobs and both claim 0 at our primary jobs. Definitely worth it!

None to file in Florida and Texas, but I did have to file for North/South Carolina. It's like paying my dues multiple times. I despise them!

There is no legal one for us, and we don't take any illegal ones.

I don't think loophole is illegal, but if IRS closes the loophole so it will be illegal to use those method.

IRS is crazy, anyway.
