Don't know if any of you knew about this but I just recently found out few days ago that my dear friend Sherry Grace whom I went to school with at Ark. School for the Deaf. She passed away in May of this year.

For any of you that went to NTID in 1992, You may recall the accident that my friend was in jumping out of car and hit her head on concrete hard and end up in coma and was paraylzed. (She didnt recognize me when I went to see her at Ark. Children's hospital- it was so hard on me to see her like this. I never went back cuz want to remmy the old Sherry.)

I can't remember but someone asked me about her and how she is doing? Now want to share the news that she passed away from complications from the accident in 1992. She never fully recovered from the accident.

Sherry Lynn Grace, 31, of Sparkman, AR, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 17, 2006.

Sherry was a 1992 honor graduate of Arkansas School for the deaf.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Marvin Grace and J. E. West; and her grandmother, Thelma West.

Sherry is survived by her parents, Floyd and Pat Grace of Sparkman; sisters, Teresa Ward and husband, Mark of Camden, Debbie Ray and husband, Gary, and Kim Nix and husband, Kevin all of Sparkman; grandmother, Willa Mae Grace of Sparkman; three nephews, Jeremy Ward of Camden, Scott Ray and Nathan Nix both of Sparkman; two nieces, Hayley Ray and Katie Nix both of Sparkman; and a host of friends and loved ones who made her life full.

A special thanks to family, friends, Doctors Home Care, Ouachita County Medical Center Hospice, Traci, Elana, Becky, Gloria, and Dr. Braden for their love and care.

Proctor Funeral Home of Camden is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Launius officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Ouachita. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family will be at 1746 Hwy 7 North, Sparkman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ouachita County Medical Center Hospice, P. O. My deepest condolences to the family. I remember Sherry from when I was at NTID as well as the accident she was in.

Thanks. I am still shocked but kinda glad that she is in a better place because i didnt want her to suffer any pains? She is with God and the angels now.

I will always remember her and the memories of us goofing, laughing and flirting with boys.. sitting together to eat and watch tv together.. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten from my heart! Rest in peace, my dear friend.
 
:( SmileyGin, I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. My condolences to her family, as well as yourself. You're right, she is in "a better place" now with God, and she left this earth knowing that she had been truly loved by her family and friends!!! I hope that God will comfort her family and yourself in the difficult days ahead. Take care. :hug:

This is very odd my girlfriend went to ark school for deaf, her mother teachers there. Just last night Jaxon my girlfriend said to me that she was upset because she had heard that a friend of hers and her sisters had passed away this weekend from a car wreck. So they thought that her death was very recent. I saw the name and thought oh, someone else knew about her and jaxon was really confused when she saw the date of the death.

odd. very odd. But I too send my best of wishes to the family and friends.

Awww I am so sorry to hear that! But she is in Heaven with the Lord and no londer suffering the pains. She is in my prayers as well.
 
I am very sowwy to hear abt ur friend.. She is not suffer anymore and in heaven with god :hug:
 
Sorry about your friend. Dying is all apart of life. But its very hard to accept alot of times.

With my deep thought, I am very sorry about your loss of your friend. She is in heaven without suffers. Memories are always with us to keep good remember of your happines of your friend.

u know the way deafies are famous with mixed stories or rumors.. as you can see she didnt die recently.. she died in may. we didnt find out few days ago. my classmates asked me to look for her obituary as my friends were working and didnt have time. I had more time on my end so I looked up for the obituary.

We knew she had the accident in 1992 at NTID and we waited for her to come home. We finally went to see her at Ark. Childrens hospital. She didnt even recognize me and others. She was paraylyzed so how can she drive ?? she was beddridden all of those years.

no you got the stories wrong. I am sorry. I know it is shocking. I knew about it already as i did went to see her back then..they said she will never be the same again. we kept in touch with Sherrys mom since then but not all times.. you know? then we found out from Sherrys mom that she passed away. She didnt tell us cuz she was grieving then and of course is still grieving. that is understandable. but wish we could have gone to the funeral to pay our respects. :(
