I turned on my computer the other day and found out that my hard drive was fried! So until I get the problem fixed, I can only use the computers at work. Bwecause I am a patrolman, I spend most of my time out on the road so I cannot play on the computers very often.

On an unrelated note, I had a first happen to me last night. I actually delivered a baby! 7lbs, 10 oz cute little girl. I stopped by the hospital on my way to work and found out shes doing fine! I got to the house before the paramedics. When I came ion, I saw mom on the floor with the baby partially delivered. I grabbed the baby, finished pulling her out, cleared her air way, tied off the umbilical cord, wrapped her in a towel, and waited for the paramedics!
It didn't set in until I walked out of the apartment that I actually brought a human life into this world! I have put many criminals away for a very long time and done som pretty high profile things in my 7 years as a cop. But I think this is one of the coolest so far. It is not very often that a cop gets to have a li9fe long impact on someone in a positive manner.
Well, gotta get back to work.
I'll try to check in periodically.

Oh, wow ! What a brave man you are ! You are truly a blessed for welcomin' your child into this world. Aww - by the way, welcome aboard ! :D

Congratulations on your baby girl ! ;)

Congratulations on your new incoming family member, I didn't know you are a cop. We have another member here who is also a cop. Come back whenever you have some free time. ;)

Wow ! You did a Good job know how to
handle the situation very well...
Congrats ! :)

its not his kid....hes a cop and got a call to an apartment. he arrived before the paramedics and saw the woman on the ground giving birth, so he delivered it before the ambulance arrived.

I know it is not his child, but I feel that it is his first that bring that child into this world -- sorta of feelin' like he is a father. Where was a biological father when that happens ? Just that cop guy. He stole his place by bringin' that child into this world. Heh heh That makes him a special man for handlin' this situation so well. ;)

Wow, that must be one amazing experiences for you, I bet the mother was thriller that you were there to help delivery, and it was nice of you to stop by to check on the baby girl...

Did she name the baby after you?

 I just knew. But, congratulations on your part, too ! :D

Just for clarification, The baby was not mine. I got a radio call for it at work.
And they named her Kylie, and she is adorable.

How far were you at when that happens ? I am just curious ...

Lillys dad , excellent work and congrats. I know when I started, there were a lot of 'firsts' that I wanted to do...and delivering a baby is something I have not done on the street yet....usually I'm getting there after the baby has been born, but one of these days ;)

Congrats again and make sure you aren't gone too long from us.

Hey Lillys dad, I am so sorry to hear about your computer, and I hope you will be able to get it fixed soon, so you can post more often.

I am so happy and proud for you!!!! What a blessed thing you did, that must have made you feel so wonderful, bringing a new life into the world. You are a prime example of our law enforcement, who often go unnoticed!!!! Big hurrahs for you!!!! I am sure the new mom and dad will be forever in your debt!!! What a great job you did Lillys dad!!! Way to go!!!

We will miss you. Good job on the baby. My ex is a CO and he really wants to be a cop but he wouldn't even watch my babies born.

Thanks again all!

Taylor, I'm not new to the job. I've been doing this over 7 years now. I spent the first 6 years in north St.Louis. I have had plenty of experience on homicides, drive-bys, car jackings and so on. As a conservative estimate, i have probably written and handled 250 shootins.
Now I work in a civilized area. I work for a smaller dept. of 125 officers. I am in a much nicer area that took quite a while to realize that most people actually like having cops in the neighborhood loooking after them.
The way I explain the transition is " I now get paid alot more to do alot less, I get waved at with all 5 fingers instead of just one, people are actually happy to see me, and I'm not getting shot at on a regular basis.
Anyway, I gotta go home and go to bed. Gotta get up early to hide eater eggs for Lilly!
