I'm happy to announce that I will be getting my second CI on my right ear sometimes in July the 12th or sooner! I am so excited! my audiologist has told me that i should keep my hearing aid in my right ear for about an hour or 2 to keep my ear stimulated so i won't have to relearn all the sounds in my right ear again.
But the reason why i am getting another one is because my right hear has been losing my amount of hearing left due to Winter Drumline or possibly my Autoimmune Hearing Loss acting up again. I haven't had Autoimmune Hearing Loss since i was about 3 years old. So its a possibility that it might happen. I will be getting the nucleus 5 in my right ear. I am excited about getting another cochlear implant but not too excited about having to go through another surgery. My parents wants to get this surgery done and over with before i start the band season. And to get it done so it wouldn't interfere with school. Which i want to get it done before band and school starts. But that means I would have to take it easy this summer since i would be doing alot of stuff. I don't start band until the middle of July. But i will have a week or so to recover from the surgery. The surgery date on July the 12th is tentative. Because we're trying to find a sooner date to have the surgery before all the craziness happens. But until then they will call us and give us updates.
