of hearing aid, which were they, why was the change made and did you want the change, or was it your audiologist's idea? Would you NOW want to go back to the other one, and if you saw a different audiologist, would you ask him or her about it?

I wore a bodyworn HA , back in the 83 or 84...from the States..then when I got older I got switched to the BTE's...

the change was that I was a lot older and my ears were steadier to keep the HA on..

I wore BTE then when to all in the ear and back to BTE. It was suggested due to my degree of hearing loss. I didn't get the benefit from all in the ear as I did from BTE.

Body worn as toddler,
then Bodyworn with BTE when started preschool until end of primary school,
BTE (and Headphones at Secondary school)

I guess it's due to me growing up. I did go through different BTE's when i reached Adult hood.

Now BTE one ear/CI in another ear.

ITE aids tend not to be as powerful as BTEs. I switched to ITEs as a young teen (jr high) for cosmetics. I thought I could hear, but was mostly just lipreading. Thank Maude for that audi at MEEI who had me try on a BTE.....I really do think that if the dinky aid users heard what they were missing, the dinkies would stop being manufactored.

I wore a CIC for a few years, and I don't think I would go back to wearing CICs, because they are expensive to maintain.

My hearing degraded three years ago, and if I recall, my CICs would not give me good hearing. So I decided to get a new HA that sits inside my ear, but it is not CIC.

The funny thing about wearing CIC, is that people ultimately notice the HA, and often ask me what is inside my ear. With my current HA, nobody has questioned my HA, which is better, because I don't have to explain anything and talk about hearing loss, etc.
