I grew up with analouges and only recently got digitals (a few years back). I thought they were "quieter" even though they were programmed to mimic normal hearing. I preferred my old analogues.
My audiologist said that some peolple just prefer that "big noise" sound of analogue, and I bought a second set of cheap digitals that don't try to mess around with fine tuning every little sound that comes into them. Now I wear the cheap digitals exclusively...
I wore analog before. I switched to digital once 9 years ago. When my digital hearing aid died on me a year later, I switched back to my old analog. Last year, I got a new digital hearing aid and it still works well. If I had the money, I would by another analog hearing aid because I like that better for daily activities and keep my digital for work environments.
I perfer my analog hearing aids because it is easier to adjust and the sound quality is fine. I also have the digital aid as well better for noise reduction.
Had Digital for 10 years until the Hosp stopped providing that particular make the other digitals didn't work for me so they gave me Analogue... i liked it as it's louder and bolder.
