If you can hear, is anything ever private?

Like two people talking or talking on the phone.

I was reading about Gally, they feel they ought to use their voice instead of signing because it is none of other people's business.

but really, do people in the hearing world mind their own business? I know I mind my own business because I can't understand them well. I can only handle one in one conversation and often in my own little world.

From a hearing person's perspective, I would say yes, some things are private. Hearing people don't have super hearing, so we can't hear everything.

Also, I try NOT to hear every conversation. It would drive me nuts if I listened to everyone's cell phone chatter. Some women continue yakking even when they're in the toilet stall in a public restroom.

It is pretty much the same in both worlds.

If you don't want anyone to hear what you are saying, move far away from them. Same goes for us deaf folks.

Yeah, I've noticed that some hearing people speak very loudly while on their cells in public places...never could figure that one out.
