who wears hearing aids was to die or offer you their hearing aids because they are getting new ones, under what circumstances would you accept them and use them with the earmoulds you use on your current hearing aids?
 
If they were a lot better and newer than what I have.
 
It would depend on what those hearing aids were designed for.

Most hearing aids are designed (adjusted) specifically for each individual.

If I was offered an old hearing aid, I would take it. If it wasn't adjusted for me, I could take it in to have it re-adjusted for me. That way, it would be my back-up hearing aid.

Right now, I wear a digital hearing aid. I try to not sweat much with it. When I do, then I take it off so that it doesn't get damaged.

If I was offered an analog hearing aid, that would be great because I would wear that in a non-professional environment such as going to parties, the mall, etc. For work, I would wear my digital hearing aid. :)
 
why not? Recycle. :)

I've given my old ones (duh cuz I'm implanted now!) to my friends who are considering of getting a CI, but their worse ear has not been exposed to sounds. I told them that they need to expose that ear to sounds so it's not so shocking if they get activated.
