Hey guys :)
I wrote a poem about my hearing aids and I wanted some feedback? Hope everybody is doing well :)
Here it is...

I wrote this poem about my new light pink hearing aids :) I've come to accept that they are just apart of who I am and I'm not going to change for anybody! <3

Delicate and light pink
They make you think.
Sitting nestled in her
Ears as they blend in
Her fair hair.
They help her to hear
And she isn't shy
Of showing them off
Because it's just apart
Of who she is and
She hates it when
People think she is
Weird.
Don't you dare call her
Hearing impaired
Because she isn't impaired
At all.
She will stand tall
Because she is
Who she is and
She doesn't need to
Impress anybody except
Herself.
She calls her hearing aids
Dory and Nemo
And decorates them with
Stickers because it's fun.
She's sixteen and
Sick of people telling
Her that their grandparents
Wear hearing aids too.
That's cool and all but
It makes her awkward
So don't tell her that
Anymore.
Changing the batteries
Is a bit of a chore
But life is never a bore
Because she can just ignore you
When you go on
And on about something
Dumb like One Direction
And you have no idea
That she's actually turned her
Hearing aids off!

Lovely, lovely, lovely

Gad, it gives me chills. Really. I watch tv with CC. My partner said she avoids coming down until much later to make dinner because I seem to get annoyed. I said, "I can just turn off!"

When looking at CIs (bad topic for me now), I considered green. I'm almost 60 and my medium brown hair is greying. Since HoH or being deaf is invisible (unless you sound deaf and most unfortunately, I do not...) pink does make you visible. If you had trouble understanding or hearing me, I'd see your lovely pink HAs and know you probably weren't ignoring me (I've been called a snob myself but it was lack of hearing) you most likely did not hear or understand me.

I so like your poem (obviously). It is funny, shows how strong you are, how totally and utterly unintimidated you are, and I believe confirms you will get far in this strange world. I wish I had beat you to it but my poetry writing days ended many years ago. Kudos!

While people have called you weird and I said I was a designated snob, I'm now called quirky. That should not bother me but it does because we just are who we are. Who the heck isn't weird or quirky out there. So, you have another powerful line in there.

Never use hearing aids & feedback in the same sentence. ;)

Okay to both of you - I'm laughing hysterically

Never use hearing aids & feedback in the same sentence. ;)
I think I was in my 30s and every time I hugged someone I beeped. A friend said more than once she felt she was hugging a microwave with the timer going off. Made sense to me.

A guy once gave me hug and my HA started to feedback and the guy started to dance with me. It was very funny !

Sounds divine

Now, that is perfectly lovely and awesome. When I was in college, high school, etc. I was embarrassed by my situation. I was embraced under a tree with a lovely gentleman and I started beeping. He looked around and I did the same. That was many years ago.

Many things shape our lives and my hearing and subsequent embarrassment by it did a number on mine.
