I don't understand what rules of English grammar have to do with ASL at all.

I thought the idea was "every language is complicated in its own way" or at least "well so is English!"

HA....I remember Tom Bertling/Jake O'Donnell (for those of you back in the DumbNotes days. He HATES Deaf culture and wrote "A Child Sacrificed to the Deaf World",a VERY biased and outdated view of deaf ed and Deaf culture) bashing ASL and saying that it was easy and not "really" a language.......
