Sorry to hear that. That reminds me of what happened to me at Michael's back in November 2002. My mom and I picked up my best friend that flew to see me in Oregon (I lived in Oregon at that time) from Rochester, New York for Thanksgiving. My mom need to stop at Michael's to pick up few stuffs... My best friend and I were chatting in ASL at the aisle... The woman saw us signing which is obvious that both of us are deaf... She pushed her shopping cart against my back and screamed at me "MOVE IT!" I was like excuse me, didn't you see that we are deaf and signing in ASL? You should pat on my shoulder and nicely inform me that I need to move. She got so stubborn and yelled at me anyway... I couldn't understand what she was saying... I yelled at her really loud enough to get entire store customers and workers to come around and look at us. I did it on purpose to embrass her. She felt like a shit and left the store. They laughed at her.
