I wouldn't know how accurate the representation of Deaf education was, but the movie seemed to present the most extreme views from both sides of the CI debate and nothing in between. As far as the anti-CI message goes, well, it is a piece of art, so the artist has the right to say whatever she wants, but I think it was poorly executed and quite melodramatic. The romance between the main character and the guy comes outta nowhere and never develops or serves a purpose in the story. The ending was very cliched and used scare tactics to drive home a political point--that is, that if you get a CI, you will die. C'mon. Also, I didn't get to know Dawn as a character, so I wasn't sympathetic when she died. Not the best screenwriting, IMO.
