Lately I have had a lot on my mind about the choice in hearing aid I have and if my audi made the best decision for me. I totally trust him and I felt like he would always make the best decision for me in what I needed.

I have the Zon 7 by Starkey. AMAZING hearing aid they do so much and since I have had these, I went from a 40 gain to a 50 gain receiver in less than 4 months and then the last time I went in because I had had another drop in hearing. We adjusted them and I asked him while my hearing keeps dropping are these going to be enough? By that I mean because these hearing aids are mostly meant for someone with a moderate-moderate/severe loss and I am at the point of almost Severe loss. These were very expensive aids. So the last time I was there I asked him for a printout of my audiogram and I brought it home and I did some research only to find out that these just won't do the trick if I lose ANYmore hearing whatsoever.

It was really bothering me so I called another place today to talk to them about what my dilemma was. He asked me if I could come in today so I said definitely. I was having mixed emotions about it because I really liked my current audi but I felt like he just hasn't told me things or wasn't answering some of my questions and he might have been leaning on just getting me to buy these because they were so expensive. I know he was excited about them but he still should have looked at what I needed in a hearing aid.

I went to the other audi today and he was kind of surprised I had these and he was surprised at how pushed to the max they are. He was trying to lean towards not being so rude about it but I was agreeing what he was saying. He said in order for me to hear things correctly I need to go with a custom fit aid and one that has more power. Especially if I dont know how much hearing I will lose and when. It could be sooner than later. He definitely said these were NOT the best aids for me and that he would check with their boss to see if there is something they could do for me with a trade in. I have a hearing test with them tomorrow morning (which i hate!) Hopefully things will be resolved, I get so frustrated... :eek3:

aww. I do hope for the best for you.

Good luck tomorrow.

Cool to have an audi that does Trade in.

Mine will not allow that. They told me HA are like a prescription. Only one person that it was fitted for can use it. :hmm:

I have had HAs given to me. but I have yet to find an Audi that will program them for me. :( Due to it is not an Rx for me.

This is what my audi did for me:)..I had the una which wasn't suitable for me. They traded in the UNA for a versata free of charge as an upgrade and then I had to pay for another versata for the left. I have the power version and if I need more gain in the future I can always trade up to the super power version. I am very happy with the quality of service as well as the people that work in my audi's office. My audi is also fluent in ASL so it's great for Deaf people as well that need a terp or don't feel comfy writing everything down and such.

I always wondered why you had an open fit aid candy...I don't even have an open fit aid and my hearing is only moderate right now im only inching towards severe but i have custom molds and always have...
