I'm sorry to hear about your grandma, she isn't one of those people who would keep an open mind and show respect. She has no power of control over what you should do with your life, just follow your heart. 
My family always believe in the importance of keeping an open mind how homosexuals live their life. Even my step-mother has friends who are lesbians and they're teachers. It's very important that people should keep an open mind and show respect along all people in all races. If Christians dislike homosexuals because what's being said in the bible, it's always best to remain the negatives to themselves, because we are sinners too we are no differences from homosexuals, that's for the matter of fact.
