to be an audiologist who wears hearing aids that in the near future, all newly qualified audiologists in the US will have to have the letters Au.D after their name. Does your present audiologist have these letters?
 
Both my former hearing aid audi and current CI audi have a doctorate in Audiology. My former CI audi had a Master's, but went on to earn her doctorate last year. That being said, what I think is more important than one's degree is the relationship you have with your audi. Even though my former CI audi only had a Master's at the time I worked with her, it didn't mean she was any less effective or helpful than my current CI audi.
