Ive been having good luck with the ha and really find it helpfull.

But the last time over there the audiologist said some insensitive stuff about deaf people. Something about the deaf talkn too much and how everyone hates communitcating with the deaf cuz its such a hassel. The guy kinda looks like Jay Mohr.

For some reason I found his comments funny. Im thinking to myself, does this guy want to sell ha's?

People/dispensers like him sell/service to clientele who are hearing people in their upper years in probably 95% of the cases. So if you can give this guy a hard time without going overboard, you just might give him an education. I know mine is the same way but they don't dare talk like that around me and I'm not a yeller/screamer about stuff, lol.....So, that out of the way, why do you find his insensitive commentary funny?

I didnt find it real funny. I just found it ironic, this guy is selling ha's and he doesnt seem to like deaf people. Like it was a skit on Saturday Night Live being performed by Jay Mohr.

I didnt realize that 95% of clientele was older people who have lost some hearing. That takes some of the irony out of it

Yeah, in other words, most of these people are "living off" hearing folks.

yeah, I figured it was like 50/50 of deaf folk and older people.

You do? There are millions of old-used-to-be-hearing folks with hearing aids. I seriously doubt there's more than a couple hundred thousand born HoH folks who use hearing aids. This dispensing industry would stand alone(as a business) just fine without folks like you and I. I wish more of us would try to help these folks. I have actually run into and heard of scads of these people who don't know the first thing about deaf/culturally deaf people. Mind you, this is just from my perspective and I know a few other like myself who feel this way, too.

yeah, I didnt put a lot of thought into who makes up his clients.

I shoulda said something but I had a the feeling it would just gone in one ear and out the other.

I jinxed myself. My hearing aid has been acting up tonight. I need to clean it.
