Hurricane matthew

TCS is sharpening and checking our chainsaws.

When I lived in Northern Ca. a friend was renting a house that had a propane stove in the house to cook on. This really came handy when we had the worst snow storm in 35 years . Everyone waterlines was about the ground and frozen so we had to melt snow for water b/c on the stove b/c we ran out of firewood . An old timer gave us 2 loads of firewood , we filled up a wheel barrel and took turns pushing a load back to the house . We had no power lines and no TV or phones so there was no way to know a big storm was coming , if people knew they would gotten ready for it.

On our walk last night we noticed a lot of people had set out their trash cans for pickup. So, I asked TCS to call the town again to verify that there was NO pickup (I didn't want to miss it if there was one). Again, the official said that there was NO pickup and that either tonight or tomorrow morning they were going to send the police over to tell residents to put their cans away. Yikes, they're serious! Anyway, we posted that info (again) on our neighborhood FB, so I hope people take notice.

Oh wow, it seems like many of your neighbors don't listen to local news, also for me, I admitted that I don't listen to local news either.

Put trash cans on curbs are dangerous and trash cans could flies when hurricane is on way to your area, so it will be in big mess.

Yes, the propone is critical for survival so many people use it for cooking in case if they have no electricity.

Yeah if you get high wind the trash cans can become flying objects and cause damages .

My relatives (FL, GA and Charleston) are nervous now, but they are ready for it. My cousin cant believe the hurricane has gotten stronger. They hope it will die quickly!

I just checked the weather for my city and now we have only a 10% chance of getting rain on Sunday, the store was busy when I went there today. When people hear the work 'storm' here they stock up on food . Some live on an island and there only 2 ways off it one by a road that flooded out during storms or by a boat .

I wouldn't be surprise if some people put their trash in other people trash or in businesses dumpster. That sinks having no trash pick up all week. Do you have a garage to you could leave the trash bags in if your trash cans are all filled up?

It looks like Hurricane Matthew's path will bypass your area by flee after between NC and SC.

but the path could change anytime.

If we can we will. (Depends on internet, electricity and cell phone service.)

The storm is supposed to hit our area late Friday or early Saturday. I wish the forecasts could be more exact.
