Atlantic Hurricane Ernesto - NOAAWatch

I was waiting for a thread to pop up about Ernesto.

But, this is true. We are under the gun right now. We don't have any warnings or watches yet, but already some evacuations are already underway here. We have an mandatory evacuation for all visitors and non residents. I would venture a guess that watches will go up tomorrow, and probably, a voluntary evacuation will be in effect. Will just have to see. We're expecting a category 1-2 storm to affect my area.

But, I'm not liking this.... The storm is supposed to affect us Wed morning. If I disappear, you'll know why. My electricity is probably out or something, or we've packed up and left.

The storm could be heading towards the Gulf States, so be on your toes, guys. When Ernesto enters the Gulf, it's gonna get stronger. We could be looking at a major hurricane in the coming days.

Ugh! I hate hurricane season!

breezy if FEMA doesnt pay you the money will you vote out JEB BUSH? And Vote for a Democrat to become next florida governor?

You're making a very big leap here. First, we're expecting a category 1 storm, so I'm not expecting to have to deal with FEMA.

Second, I rather discuss Ernesto here, and keep politics out of it. However, if you want, you can PM me, and I'd be glad to answer your question regarding votes.

Right now Ernesto has downgraded to a tropical storm.
Let's hope it will stay that way or disappear.

It could. I just don't know. We're thinking it's going to restrengthen into a cat 1. Then, go over Cuba coming toward us as a tropical storm.

I will tell you, though. All this "what if" crap, just increases my anxiety. I really do not like hurricane season for this reason.

Scientist have found a way to kill hurricanes. But the government dont wanna regalate it for evoinmental reasons.

I have an australian oil coat, that good enuff for the hurricane rains?

Just pray to God and hope for the best.. :) i will pray for you and the people in FLa.. :(

Thank you, Ginger. These things just make me nuts! I'm probably fretting for nothing, but you never know. Last year, Wilma was supposed to be "nothing", too, and it hit here as a Cat 3.

look at the map.. it said Tropical Storm.. :P

Yes but if you look at the map where the black line and letter (H and S) that is predicting path. As you see the path shown S then H then S then back to H. So the speed would turn up and down and they need to prepare. In three days would be dangerous. Usually no time to wait last min! Right now there is Florida Keys evacuation has been ordered.

Oceanbreeze ... I'll be praying for your safety! Been living in Clearwater, Florida for 20 yrs!!! Whew just moved out of FL state last Oct just before Wilma.

Thank you!!! And, you're absolutely right about the strength. It's small now, but it could regenerate and get real nasty. Speaking of Wilma, that's what happened here last year. We were expecting a category 1 storm or a 2 (I can't remember!) But, it actually hit as a Category 3 storm, with winds of 120mph. So, that's why I'm nervous.

Your welcome ... YES I remember about Wilma warning and that's why I had to hurry up and packing 26 ft UHaul truck and moved out of there before I got stuck on the road there. I left Fla state on Oct 21st of last year!!! Then the Wilma hurricane came around within a week!!! Sheeesh. Nothing happened to my house that I sold there anyway. Hate to deal with all hurricanes warnings. Indeed did get me nervous.
