RAOM stands for Random Act of Mailing. Essentially, it's any sort of gift sent to someone else through the mail, without knowing for sure that they'll reply with something for you.
Sure, they can, and many will, but it's not required.
Examples of RAOMs are postcards, ATCs, letters, stickers, poems, artwork, collages, homemade jewelery, photographs, zines -- any sort of gift that you're willing to send!
So, there's no guarantee that the person I'm sending to will send me something back, right? What am I getting from this? By registering and listing yourself on the site, other people will send you RAOMs. You can choose to reciprocate or not.
