I was considering Dean and promoted him heavily until General Wesley Clark busted on the scene last September. Right now it is a race for the Democratic nomination between Dean and Clark. Clark is fast coming on Dean in the polls. But Clark's strength is more in the South and the West where he has Dean 2nd place in the various state polls.
go to
http://www.clark04.com and u will see why I think IMO the General could make a batter president than Dean does. But it's going to be a long shot to combine Clark and Dean in one ticket that is needed to send Bush back to the pig ranch in Crawford.
Clark does support ADA too but the real kicker is his new "Families First" tax and health insurance plans that will have families making less than 50,000 pay ZERO, zip, zilch, nada taxes but sock 'em to richer people and make them pay their fair share and close a lot of loopholes that let businesses get away with paying no income taxes. Bush's tax cuts were actually skewered more towards corporations and rich people than poor and middle class people. Plus the "No Child Left Behind" education act while good but was pretty heavy-handed focusing more on testing than teaching the basics.
Besides Clark is best at foreign relations since Bush fucked up our relationship with other countries over the Iraq and Al Qaeda mess. Clark played a huge part in the Dayton Peace Accords over the Bosnia/Kosovo war in '95. Clark didn't have any soldiers under his command killed during the Kosovo air war in '99 to oust Slobodan Milosevic the ex-President of Serbia.
I personally think Clark is "The Second coming of Dwight Eisenhower" (the World War II 5-star General who was Prez from 1953 to 1961) In 1952 both Democrats and Republicans were trying to get Eisenhower to run for President during the 1952 elections. Eisenhower refused to run for President during that time.
It took Henry Cabot Lodge a Republican Senator guts to enter Eisenhower in the New Hampshire Republican primary without Eisenhower's permission. The result was Eisenhower won the primary and went on to win the Presidency. Clark didn't enter the Democratic race until September when he was "drafted" by a lot of supporters urging him to run for the nomination.
Look my avatar and u will know why I chose to stand by the General instead of the Doctor after many months of deliberations and visiting
http://www.democraticunderground.com and Democratic party websites. But I'm keeping Dean in mind for Vice President or a Cabinet position but 2nd for the Democratic nomination.
