The cloth dryer in my condo is used by everyone in my building and my neighbor g//f uses is as a laundromat so there is a lot body odor and it could be used a weapon. I don't like fabric softer sheets , is there any way to get the horrible smell out ? I read it could be from a dead rodent in the vent . I hope that is not it. I do not want to go to a laundromat as that will be worst . I could not find anything on line to help me and we can't hang things out to dry, I wish I could.

Dryer sheets won't get rid of smells that are in the dryer. Maybe you can use a disinfecting wipe and wipe down the dryer drum before you use it. Also, make sure the filter is clean before use.

I like Reba's idea. I am in a house so don't have your problems.

For just a few things there are racks that you can setup inside your unit that no one else has to look at. I have one that hangs on a door and one that goes across the tub. Also, if I want to leave before my dryer would be done with something like T-shirts I put them on hangers and hang the from the shower curtain rod. What I hang the most is underwear because of the elastic.

I check the filter before putting my sheets and towels in the drying. I did end up using a disinfecting spray , I put some on a paper towel and wiped out the best I could. I might leave note on the dryer telling people to leave the door open so it can air out . I had to do this with washer machine but some jerk is using some real disgusting crap and it stink up the whole building!
If I am able to sell my condo I want to find one where you have your OWN washer and dryer! I would had used the dryer sheets to try and 'coverup'
the horrible smell. The dryer tube has came apart awhile ago and had to be fixed. I asked the guy if an animal could got into the vest to get warm . We do have a mice getting in the basement. I have a cloth rack to dry my cloths on but is too hard to hang up queen size sheets in a small condo .

My upstairs neighbor did his wash today and I had to leave the house b/c the smell was making me sick ! I asked him what he was using once and he mumble something , I think he said " I have nothing to say" or something like that. . My neighbor downstairs worked with fumes all day so he it uses to smelling chemicals . I did call the manger as the smell was really horrible this time. I am concerned about the smell keeping me from selling my condo.
I have no idea what it's but it fill the whole building ! I almost thought about calling 911 and saying it smell like someone is making something illegal in the building just to get the guy to stop using the shit ! And he just signed his lease for another year . :Ohno: if I can't move out of here.

you could look up 'kim and Aggie they got advice on all this sort of stuff

I doubt they have any tips on to deal with a difficult person. That most of my problem , you can't reason with this guy. He think he is doing nothing wrong. Whatever he is using is giving of a fume that making me sick. I should go out and buy a gas mask and put it on the next it smell bad . Maybe the guy will get that hint.

You know what? You might just be on to something there. You might not be smelling laundry cleaning products; you might be smelling residue from whatever that resident works with. It might be legal or it might be illegal. Most importantly, for you, it might be hazardous.

It might not hurt to ask your local fire chief if he can bring over a chemical sniffer to make sure that there are no hazardous chemicals in your laundry room. It could even be the smell of gas.

You don't have to tell them what you think it is. Just tell them it smells hazardous, and they should come out and check it.

Hazardous chemical fumes and high heat equipment don't mix!
