the old deaf school and elementary schools are being torn down for a new elementary school. deaf school will not be rebuilt, and really, the deaf school building is still in really good condition, just needs new wiring. But the school district owns the LAND, and wants the land for the new school (state owns deaf school building) since the old elementary school is beyond repairs. And the district just wants to get rid of the deaf school building, get it out of the way so they can have the entire land to use; they don't care if the deaf school is still in good condition (it'd be cheaper to just fix the wiring at the deaf school and replace elementary only).
