Just looking for some friendly information - it's hard to find the right info on the internet, and many of them are just references to books as well.
I'm interested in learning about how the nerves/hairs in the Cochlea function.
I get the impression that inside the Cochlea there are a bunch of tiny microscopic hairs that pick up the sound waves that travel to the ear, and sort them by sending signal/nerves to the brain to interpret the sound being transferred.

From what I think, I am guessing that for people with sensorineural hearing loss (pretty much most HoH), it seems that cochlear hairs die or fall off of some sort, causing degenerative hearing loss.

Thanks in advance!

You lose hearing by plucking out the cochlear hairs with a tweezer. :D

Haha, just kidding...I'm bored, obviously!
