You might ask someone to play interpreter for short times. It's awkward at first but after a while you kind of forget that someone is interpreting and it starts to feel more natural.  Assuming of course that you can get someone to agree to help you communicate with her.  Just don't over burden that person as they are not a true interpreter.  Also ask them to be a faithful relay because you don't want them changing what is said.  I'm sure you can think of better working than what I put in here.
